In 2008/09, I took the cliched 'gap year' in South-East Asia and Australia. One of my enduring thoughts following this trip was that I should really explore closer to home too; however, I didn't ever go inter-railing. Now, as a young professional approaching 30, I've decided to slowly make amends by 'doing it in bits' by way of a number of shorter rail-based Eurotrips during holidays from the office.
